How can we design a better platform for the doctors to swiftly comment the results and send to users
Aug 2023 - Feb 2024
Background:
I had the opportunity to research the current doctors app and prototype how a greater userflow would decrease the time spending on writing comments and reading the results before sending to the user. This project spanned around 6 months from user research to concept testing to release.
The main objectives:
- To develop a doctor's admin that presents needed data about the user and her results so the doctors are able to make accurate medical assessments.
- Aim to assist doctors in providing personalized recommendations to our users that encourage them to improve their health.
- The new doctors' admin also ensures that doctors feel engaged, motivated & trust Werlabs.
The Process:
- Gain a collective understanding of the current system, processes and pain points
- Turn issues into opportunities (How Might We)
- Sketching session - Crazy 8
- Discuss ideas & votin
- Design “prototype” & discussion with tech
- Validate with users & iterate
Project spanned for 6 months. Starting with design sprint, then moving towards creating story mapping, cases, userflow, wireframes, prototyping and eventually the main results
Background:
During this 6 months there was a tight collaboration with the engineers, doctors, PO and myself. One of the key challenges for was being the only designer during this project, which was a huge responsibility. It was both daunting and encouraging at the same time to have such a responsibility. It was a pleasuring experience .
Results and takeaways
From working on this project, I learned how crucial it is to go into the research phase with no biases and no solution in mind. The interviews and secondary research will likely provide insights that were not apparent before, and that is what the solution should be based on. It is easy to think of a solution beforehand, and only takeaway information from the research that confirms your initial beliefs, however, this will not solve the users true pain points.
I have also learned that it is critical to experiment early on, involve the engineers and the doctors early on, especially during the sketching process, because as you progress in the project, it becomes increasingly more difficult to make changes. Taking your time to experiment with different app designs early on, will save time down the road.
